Message from the Chair
We are pleased to announce that the 59th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Child Neurology will be held from June 15(Thu.) – 17(Sat.), 2017 at the Osaka International Convention Center (Grand Cube Osaka). I am greatly honored to be appointed President of this distinguished Meeting, and preparations are underway to ensure the fruitful Meeting will contribute to further advances in child neurology.
The mission of our Department has always been to provide clinical services in all fields that concern children, and to extend a helping hand to children and families who have fallen through the gaps of health care, education, and social welfare networks. We have therefore chosen the theme “Let All Children Shine: Ensuring That Every Child Receives All Necessary Healthcare, Welfare, and Education.” In recent years, new findings in various disciplines have led to major advances in child neurology, and this in turn has led to coordination with education and welfare. It is our mission to focus on children who are not being served by the existing healthcare, welfare, and educational systems, so that the health of all children can be protected, as it is they who will carry our society into the future. To this end, there is a need to further the advances in pediatric neurology and medical technologies as well as to apply them to various fields, educate the public, and solidify a wide network of cooperation. In the upcoming Meeting, we are planning numerous programs taken along this theme including seminars, workshops, symposia, and English sessions, where we are certain productive discussion will take place.
We are also planning a practical education seminar on the day prior to the Meeting, as per previous years. For the 59th Meeting, all of the posters will be assembled in one area so that discussions can be held over two days. On Saturday, the final day of the Meeting, we will show videos of some of the seminars and symposia to give participants an opportunity to view programs held on the previous two days. These are some of the substantial programs that await you in the 59th Meeting in Osaka. As is widely known, Osaka boasts many places of interest and delicious food. We hope you will enjoy the city during your visit.
I and all of the members of the Meeting Steering Committee look forward to hosting you in Osaka on June 15(Thu.) to 17(Sat.), 2017.
