Dear friends and colleagues;
Since the first Korea-Japan Joint Stroke Conference in Seoul in 2002, it has been held every 2 years, and the 8th conference will be held on 19th -21st October in 2017 in Niigata, Japan. Within the 15 years, we have held 7 conferences, and we believe Korean and Japanese stroke researchers have gained further understanding together. During this period, progress in the medical field has been phenomenal.
It is ground breaking that clinical trials for the application of iPS cells have started. For the 8th conference, the main theme will be endovascular treatment for acute ischemic stroke. We will also be having general presentations, and thus hope that young researchers apply as well.
The conference will be held in Niigata city, Niigata prefecture, where there are direct flights from Incheon International Airport available daily. This is also the city in which the G7 Agricultural Ministers Meeting took place in April of 2016. Niigata is also famous for Toki (Nipponia nippon) and is home to one of the most famous brands of rice, the Koshihikari. The birds from both countries, Japanese Toki and Korean Magpie appear in the poster design of the congress.
We look forward to your attendance.
