Call for Papers

Abstract Submission has been closed.

Colleagues are cordially invited to present the results of their research and clinical endeavors. Participants wishing to contribute to the Scientific Program of the Congress are kindly requested to submit their abstracts before November 30 December 7, 2012 (12:00 noon JST) together with the registration of at least one (Presenting) author, including payment.

Interested presenters can participate in one of the following sessions.

1. Free Lectures
2. Oral Research Presentations
3. Research Posters
4. Clinical Case Presentations

1. Free Lectures

All registrants at the Congress will be invited to submit a topic and abstract for a “Free Lecture” which will be an oral presentation given by no more than two lecturers on topics related to endodontics. The presenter(s) will be allowed a total time of 30 minutes, with 25 minutes for the presentation and 5 minutes for questions/discussion.

2. Oral Research Presentation

An “Oral Research Presentation” should be a report of a scientific or clinical investigation. Each speaker will be allowed a total time of 15 minutes, with 10 minutes for the formal presentation and 5 minutes for questions/discussion.

3. Research Posters

A “Research Poster” presentation should be a report of a clinical or scientific investigation that is displayed on a poster board. The poster must clearly explain the methodology and results of the research project and the material presented must be visible from a distance of at least one meter. At least one of the presenters should be available during the entire poster session to discuss the project with interested readers. All posters must be written in English. The author or co-author must speak English or otherwise bi-lingual paper handouts with English should be available for participants. Models and projected slides may not be used.

4. Clinical Case Presentations

A clinical case presentation should be a demonstration of one or more endodontic cases that are of interest to clinicians due to their complexity of treatment, application of advanced therapeutic techniques or diagnoses. Cases of didactic value or those describing clinical hints or time-saving procedures may also be presented. The speaker will be allowed a total time of 10 minutes, with 7 minutes for the presentation and 3 minutes for questions/discussion. The case presentation must be given in English and by no more than two presenters. In this session, slides, models, radiographs and videos may be used.

NOTE

The topic must relate to a clinical or scientific issue.

The research work submitted should be original, innovative and should not have been presented elsewhere.

Applications must be made by submitting an abstract.

The selection will be made by the organizing committee according to the scientific merit.

  • Abstract submission period: May 23rd, 2012 to November 30th December 7th, 2012 (12:00 noon JST)
  • To submit an abstract, sign in from the “Submission” button at the bottom of this page and follow the instruction.
  • Please make sure you retain your password, log in ID (e-mail address) as well as your abstract receipt number. (We cannot issue a new password or ID once you lose them.)
  • For modification/deletion to your entry, use your own password and ID to log-in to your personal abstract submission page.
  • Please note that the modification/deletion is accepted no later than 12:00 noon, November 30th December 7th, 2012 (JST)

Length of the Title and the Text

Title: within 200 characters. (Including spaces)/ about 30 words
Text: within 1,600 characters. (Including spaces)/ about 250 words

* Free Lectures and Clinical Case Presentations:

The abstracts should provide a brief outline of the material to be presented.

* Oral and Poster Presentations of Research

The abstracts should include the aim of the study and an outline of the methodology, results, and conclusions.

Acceptance/ Rejection of Presentation

The Scientific Committee will review all submitted abstracts. Selected abstracts will be presented as Oral or Poster Presenters, Free Lectures or Clinical Case Presentations. Authors of abstracts accepted for presentation will receive notification and information regarding their presentation by mid February, 2013 via e-mail.

Oral Presentations

All Congress Halls will be located at the Tokyo International Forum and equipped with a data video projector for Power Point presentations, laser pointers, etc.

Poster Presentations

Posters will be gathered, numbered and listed according to the Scientific Committee’s instructions.
Posters will be affixed, discussed and removed on the dates and at the times that will be notified to authors.
Posters Size (portrait): Maximum width: 90cm, Maximum Height: 180cm. Pins for mounting will be available at each board.

PC Reception

A PC reception desk for acceptance and checking of PC disks will be located nearby the Congress Halls. All USB or PC disks should be clearly labeled with the author’s name and the respective session. Speakers are kindly requested to provide their USB or PC disks at least 1 hour prior to their presentations.

Book of Abstracts

A CD containing all abstracts will be distributed to all registrants at the registration desk when they collect their Congress kit.

Certificate of Attendance

A certificate of attendance will be provided to each registrant participant during the Congress.
