It is my pleasure to cordially invite you to the ISMISS Japan 2013 joint meeting with JOSKAS (Japanese Orthopaedic Society of Knee, Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine, President: Akira Dezawa. ISAKOS-APPROVED COURSES), to be held on June 20-21 in Sapporo, Hokkaido. Attendees will have the opportunity to conduct invaluable academic exchanges with more than 2000 JOSKAS members who have expertise in minimally invasive surgery in the field of knee, arthroscopy and sports medicine in Japan.
The Organizing Committee is already busy making plans in order to offer participants the latest scientific and social programs available. It is our hope that the 2013 meeting will greatly promote the development of minimally invasive spinal surgery in Japan by expanding an already wide range of academic and professional contacts, establishing new friendships and strengthening old ones.
Sapporo, the largest city on the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido, has been world famous since hosting the 1972 Olympic Winter Games. It is the administrative center of the island and it has a unique history, being developed and modernized based on specialized knowledge of foreign advisors. Consequently, Sapporo was built based on a North American-style grid street plan. Visiting Sapporo allows one to gain a fuller understanding of Japanese history, and it is said that one can never claim to have been to Japan if they have never been to Sapporo.
Your attendance and active participation is extremely important for the success of the meeting. We sincerely hope that you will honor us by accepting our invitation. I am looking forward to meeting you in Sapporo.
Akira Dezawa MD
President of ISMISS JAPAN
