We are delighted and honored to host the 7th International Sentinel Node Society Meeting (ISNS2010), which is scheduled for November 18 to 20, 2010 in Yokohama, Japan. We will work hard to make this event a highly productive and informative experience for all who attend.
We were also very pleased to host the 3rd International Sentinel Node Society Meeting in Yokohama in 2002, which left us with many fond memories of the wonderful time we had interacting with participants from countries around the globe.
Over the last decade, sentinel node biopsy and lymphatic mapping techniques have made a great contribution to the management of malignant melanoma and breast cancer. In past congresses, we gained immense insight from the pioneer's achievements in this field. Now, sentinel node technology has entered a new phase of application, and the emerging techniques are driving innovation in sentinel node imaging and lymphatic mapping. We believe that the new techniques have strong potential for individualized management of not only melanoma and breast cancer but also other solid tumors.
Indeed, sentinel node navigation surgery promises to evolve into one of the most important options for surgical oncology in the near future.

Turning to our venue, Yokohama is an attractive and cosmopolitan port city. For nearly one hundred and fifty years, it has been Japan's main gateway to the rest of the world. As such, it offers a fascinating blend of traditional Japan and international flavor, giving it a robust, rich atmosphere found in few other places.
We believe that all ISNS2010 participants will be enthralled by the city's many exotic charms, enduring traditions, and inspiringly modern architecture.
So please join us again in Yokohama in November. We are confident that each and every participant will have an enjoyable and memorable stay, and return home with a richer, more knowledgeable understanding of not only the growing field of sentinel node navigation surgery but also of Japan and the Japanese.
