Treatment Paradigm of Coronary Artery Disease: 20 Years From Now!!

Chairperson: Takeshi Kimura (Kyoto University Graduate School of Medicine)
What would be the treatment paradigm of coronary artery disease in 20 years from now, when we will see an unprecedented ultra-aging society.
In this plenary session, we would forecast the changes in the fields of transfer and management of acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients, percutaneous coronary intervention, coronary artery bypass grafting, lipid lowering therapy, anti-thrombotic therapy, and other secondary preventive therapies in 20 years from now. Can we establish the methodology to predict and prevent the onset of STEMI? We would like to introduce promising new therapies that are currently in the stage of basic experiment and/or early clinical study. It is also important to foresee the changes in the health care delivery system and medical economy.
We are expecting the active participation of young people who will be playing the major role in the treatment of coronary artery disease in 20 years from now.
