(14) Heart Failure in Super Aging Society

Chairperson: Yasuki Kihara (Department of Cardiovascular Medicine Hiroshima University Institute of Biomedical & Health Sciences)
Hiroyuki Tsutsui (Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, Kyushu University Graduate School of Medical Science)

The numbers of heart failure patients are growing over the globe. In Japan, this increase is remarkable because of the rapid shift of population towards elderly. It is urgent to focus on the heart failure patients in elderly. In 2016, the Japan Heart Failure Society published a statement regarding this problem, and proposed systematic renovation for these elder patients. In this symposium, we will discuss the problems that should be solved for our super aging society with heart failure patients, and will address innovative approaches conducted in our societies and communities.
